Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see” – Mark Twain.
It doesn’t matter how big or small the act is, just something to make someone’s day easier, or to make them smile, or laugh. It can be anonymous or not. It can cost lots or cost nothing. The joy found in thinking up your act and who your person is, will usually be reward enough, but the extra joy you get from seeing or even imagining their reaction is priceless. The imagination reaction is usually way better than the actual. There would be a rule, however, if you are lucky enough to receive a random act of kindness, you are to ‘pay it forward’ at a date and time of your choosing, to another stranger before the next year’s ‘Random act of kindness to a stranger day’. With regards to sharing information of random acts, you can only share what you received not what you did, that way it still remains totally selfless, yet people get the opportunity for secondhand joy!
